Dr. Mark Coleman
A graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College in 1995, Dr. Coleman began his career in small animal medicine practicing at West Hill Animal Clinic in Toronto. After several years in “day practice”, Dr. Coleman moved to the Animal Emergency Clinic in Whitby where he worked for the next 10 years. Dr. Newhouse and Dr. Coleman purchased Taunton Road Animal Hospital in the summer of 2008. Together, they enjoy the challenge of raising two children, providing the best care available to their pets and running a busy veterinary clinic.
Dr. Jennifer Newhouse
Jennifer received her degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1995 and started here at the clinic shortly after. In July of 2008 she purchased the clinic with her husband Mark. They share their home with their two children, their Golden Retriever Henry and a menagerie of other pets.
Dr. Tracy Smith
Tracy graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1997, but she has been a part of our team since 1992. She enjoys horseback riding, hockey and fastball. When not working or playing outside, Tracy can be found at home with her husband Jeremy, taking care of her pony Jake and her cat Ragnar.
Dr. Barbara Peacock-Phillips
Barb graduated in 1985 from St. Lawrence college with a diploma in Animal Care Technology. She worked as an Animal Health Technician for 13 years. She returned to school to pursue veterinary medicine and graduated with honours from the Atlantic Veterinary College in P.E.I. in 2002. Upon graduating, she became part of the Taunton Road Animal Hospital team. She resides in Clarington with her family and two dogs.
Dr. Michelle Metrailler
Dr. Michelle Metrailler graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017. She grew up in Clarington and is excited to join a progressive, client-centered practice close to home. She has done work through Global Vets in Thailand and is an advocate for animal welfare around the world. She has interests in veterinary surgery and is certified as a professional ``Fear-Free`` veterinarian for using strategies in the clinic to prevent fear, anxiety and stress in pets. When she's not at work, she enjoys hiking with her two dogs, Peter and Zoey, playing hockey and painting
Pat has been with Taunton Road Animal Hospital since 1983. She started as a part time kennel student and never left. She shares her home with her husband, their two children, their pup Coco and cat Ali.
Bev started with us in 1995. She had worked at another clinic 18 years prior to coming to Taunton Road and was very excited to get back to working with animals. Bev spends her days off with her family and tending to her beautiful gardens. We keep her busy keeping track of a staff of 17!
Jenn started at Taunton Road Animal Hospital as a co-operative student, and joined our team in 2007. Jenn works with us full time and can be found all around the clinic from in the office, out front in reception or updating our social media outlets. Jenn shares her home with her husband, their children and an assortment of pets!
Vicki is one of our full time receptionist and joined our team in 2006. She completed her diploma in Office Admin in 1995. After taking time off to raise her family she entered back into the working field. She enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs Trooper and Molly and cat Stewie.
Kylee joined our team in spring of 2017. Kylee has many years of expierence in the veterinary field in both customer care and patient care. Her passion is for animal care and well being. Kylee enjoys her days off with furry and non furry family
Linda is a proud Oshawa native. She spent 20 years in the travel business. After the sale of her agency she was fortunate to be offered her dream job of working with animals.
Ethan is one of our part time receptionists. Ethan keeps all of us laughing and shares him home with his pup and few cats.
Lindsay joined our reception team in 2017. She shares her home with her family and keeps busy with her children and animals.
Registered Veterinary Technologists
Deanna has been part of the Taunton Road Animal Hospital team since 1996. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2002 as a Veterinary Technologist and completed the O.A.V.T. exam the same year. Deanna and her husband have their hands full with twin girls, along with their dog Gracie and cat Bobby.
Jamie is one of our Registered Veterinary Technologists. She started with us here as a veterinary assistant in 2003. Jamie went off to St. Lawrence College to complete her Veterinary Technologist program in 2005. In 2008, after successfully completing her schooling, Jamie joined us once again as a full time employee. Jamie and her husband Cody spend their time off with their baby girl and home full of pets!
Lori is a Registered Veterinary Technician and one of the newest members of our team, joining us in May 2015. She graduated from Ridgetown College in 1999 and has over 16 years of experience working with a variety of animals including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, and pocket pets. Lori enjoys caring for all animals and sharing her knowledge, love and passion for animals with others.
Sherri joined our team in March of 2016 and immediately we all felt like she had been with us forever! Sherri has a clear passion and love for her career as a Veterinary Technologists. If you can't find her around the clinic, she is most likely cuddling up with a hospitalized pet.
Brittany Joined our team in May 2016. Brittany is one of our full time Veterinary Technologists. She is a great addition to our team and brings lots of laughs along with her! Brittany shares her home with her soon to be husband and pup Cali.
Danielle also works as a part time Veterinary Assistant. Danielle has a passion for animals and takes great care of the animals in the clinic. She has a special spots for the kitty cats that stay with us.
Nicole is one of our part time Veterinary Assistants. Nicole is currently in University and working with us part time. Nicole is a great addition to the clinic and has a passion for animal care.
