You have several options for the aftercare of your pet. You may choose to take your pet home and have a burial at your cottage or pet cemetery, communal cremation or private cremation. We also offer ink paw prints and hair clippings at no cost, or a clay paw print mold can be made for a small fee.
We use Gateway Pet Memorial for our cremation services. For more information on their company please visit their webpage here.
If you choose communal cremation, this is where your pet will be cremated with other animals and their combined ashes are buried at the company’s pet cemetery. It is important to note that with communal cremation you will not receive your pets remains.
If you choose individual cremation, your pet will be cremated individually and their ashes will be returned to you in an urn of your choice. Many people have the question “How do I know that it is my pet’s ashes I am getting back?” We have full trust in Gateway, as they are a government regulated crematorium. Should you have any questions about their procedures, please contact Gateway directly and they will be able to answer any of your questions.
In either decision, you may choose to take your pets collar home with you or send it with them for cremation. You may also decide to bring their favourite toy or bed to have them cremated with.
